Description

A small, rather unusual vintage piece of ceramics from 1950s Italy. It is a multi-color glossy glaze interior and the exterior is calfskin leather. Four inches wide. It depicts a cubist’s aerial view of a street winding through a village— a typical Fantoni subject during his representational period. A few stains to the leather from age. Not sure if it can be cleaned. Attributed to Marcello Fantoni but too small to be signed. His work is sought after by collectors.

His works are in the MoMA New York, Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York, Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Fine Art of Boston, and the Victoria and Albert Museum of London.
