Description

Original art by Leah Peeks. Peeks drew inspiration from the Washington D.C. Color School painters of the 1950s, especially Sam Gilliam, while she was living in Virginia.  These small watercolors were painted on the beaches of Shelter Island using the ocean water.

This artwork is distinctive because of the way the pattern responds to the viewer’s eye. A sense of movement, an awareness of the near-perfect but also not-perfect design. An original watercolor painting on heavy watercolor paper. It is framed in warm gray hardwood and has a museum glass face.

The artwork measures 4 x 6 inches and the frame measures 18 x 18 inches.
