Leaf pattern serigraph by Allen Edward Kubach and/or Marjorie Shaw Kubach. It reminds me of the 1940s work of Josef Albers who did many similar leaf studies (see example here.) This couple produced figurative and abstract works in the 1960s and 1970s in New York and then later in New Jersey. The Kubachs did patterns for textiles, too. This work, an original silkscreen print on paper, is from a collection we acquired after the passing of Allen Edward Kubach. It is in a period-appropriate white and gold hand carved gesso wood frame. Circa 1960s. Unsigned, undated, untitled. 23 x 29 inches.
