$750.00

An original vintage exhibition poster promoting the paintings of Fernand Léger. “F. Léger / Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen / Februar 1955.” This poster is a lithograph by the Parisian art printer Mourlot Freres. Note: this is not a contemporary reproduction. It is a vintage poster with slight age toning and signs of handling. Léger (1881-1955) was a French artist often referred to as one of the founders of Pop Art. He often depicted the intersection between nature and the industrialized world. The MoMA has a copy in their permanent collection object number 171.1955. The Museum Morsbroich was officially opened in 1951 as the first new museum for contemporary art to be founded in the still young Federal Republic of Germany, at the forefront of a cultural movement aimed at restoring outlawed modernity to its institutional rights.
