Description

We’re fond of this particular psychedelic op-art swirl pattern. Not sure who designed it originally. We’ve seen it implemented in British, German and Danish bent glass trays as well as pitchers, glasses, plates, and coasters. This one is unmarked and unlabeled so it is by an unknown maker. It is unusual because it is opaline white glass not clear glass. It is asymmetrical in the style of organic/atomic 1950s designs. 11½ long × 8 inches at the widest.

Other makers include Heye Filigran Glas – Germany, Chance Brothers’ Fiesta line in the Swirl pattern by Margaret Casson, Lausitzer Glas Kristall – GDR, Svend Jensen, Coronaglas – Denmark, and best of all Copenhagen MF Crystal & Art Glass Denmark. The Chance version of this pattern is always white lines on clear with a gold rim or gold lines on a burgundy ground.
