Description

A flat wide rim and multi-hued cased glass define the geode style from Murano, Italy. This fine three-sided example is in red with clear glass encasing it, and a thin layer of silver inclusions to add a glamorous glitter effect. It most likely is from the 1960s or early 1970s. The term geode is quite literal: the art glass resembles a geode mineral sample sliced to reveal the jewel tones inside. Mouth-blown crystal. Missing label. Possibly Ercole Barovier, Seguso, or Cenedese.
