Description

Three petit but luminescent vases offered as a set. These gems were hand made in Sweden in the Mid-Century. They are each slightly different due to the nature of the mouth-blown glass making process. The maker calls this color Amber, however in standard room light they look more olive green with a darker green fade to the bottom. Hold them up to bright sunlight and you do see the amber color distinctly. The interior is thick opaque white cased glass. Each one has a rough pontil mark. Flawless. 3½ inches tall × 2¾ inches wide.

Only sold as a set.

Ekenas Glasbruk, a Swedish glassworks, was founded in 1917 by R. Stahl and Hjalmar Stahl, who formally worked at Orrefors. In 1922, Sven Westberg bought the company, and was manager until he died in 1962. It was then ran by Claes Tell and his son until the company closed in 1976. Designers at the factory included John Orwar Lake and Michael Bang.
