This lithograph appeared in issue 21/226 of the French art revue Verve in 1948 as the cover. The image is by Henri Matisse, a good friend of the publisher.

Verve is a rare publication featuring Mid-Century Modern art and essays. The editor Tériade commissioned original art created expressly for his visionary pages.
