Superb color and form reminiscent of Murano glass. I’ve had several Ivima pieces in the shop and even though this one is unmarked it has the design and colors of a typical Ivima of Portugal glass. This Mid-Century Modern dish is blown using the sommerso (submerged) technique of layering glass of different opacities and colors: Green to clear to opaque white to clear to bright orange. Then it is cut across the top a polished. Wow. Totally 1960s colors and shape. 7.5 x 2.5 inches. Very heavy.
This piece looks stunning from any angle and is glossy and clean. That being said… There is one tiny fleabite on the inside rim that is really hard to see or photograph but you can feel it with your finger. There is a visible 1/4 inch long scratch on the top flat surface. There are a few faint scratches on the bottom typical of a piece that was gently used.
