A new shop favorite. This incredible bottle shape vase has all of the elements we love about studio pottery. It is beautifully constructed using the slab technique, with crisp clean edges on all sides. It is sturdy, heavy, solid, not wobbly or askew. It has clean Bauhaus geometry based on a perfect square. It features another geometric shape, the circle, depicted in different combinations on each side. The resulting graphic design is somewhat playful. A bit like a giant domino or some other game piece. The matte glaze is a bit like fat lava glaze featured in the best West Germany pottery from the Mid-Century. The circles are hand painted and the brushstrokes are evident. It is signed with embossed initials G M. The underside is flat and unmarked. It is 9¼ × 7 × 4 inches. It weighs 5.8 lbs or 6.25 kg.
