Description
By Henri Charles Guérard, a French printmaker and painter. This work “Bateaux dans le Brouillard” was created in 1894. The title translates to “Boats in a Fog.” The original at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is a roulette lavis, painting the plate directly with acid, essentially drawing with acid rather than ink, and then washing it off when the desired effect had been achieved. Very very unusual. (Definition provided by printshop.org). Offered is reproduction from the original—an archival pigment print on 100% rag paper in a white wood frame with scratch-resistant acrylic. 9 × 11 inches framed.
