Large bold porcelain round serving platter in the “Delphis” pattern for Poole Pottery, England. Vivid red background with colorful hand-painted abstract abstract design in a glossy glaze. Marked on the white underside. Produced in the early 1970s. It is in very good condition, no chips or cracks. One glaze skip on the rim that looks like a chip but it is not. 11 inches wide. The underside white porcelain is discolored from age.
Poole pioneered the application of this glaze which bleeds from one color into the next—therefore each hand-painted piece by Poole is unique.
