Offered here is an original oil painting signed “May” and dated 1967. We added a new gold leaf plein aire frame. 30×26 inches. Superb, confident brushwork. The Louisiana artist, May Eib, was copying a small 1899 watercolor by Winslow Homer titled “Sloop, Bermuda.” Identifying information and ink signature on the verso. We’ve included an image of the original Winslow Homer watercolor in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
