Lapid Israel Small Hand Painted Fat Lava Vessel: Magnificent bold and graphic design on this fat lava glaze vase from Lapid Israel. The base color is gray and the decoration is in a blackish blue. Brilliant psychedelic abstract design. Manufactured by Lapid Pottery Works in Israel. The art director was Elisabeth Cohen-Silberschmidt, a German immigrant. The objects manufactured at Lapid were hand-painted, mostly by women, as piecework. It measures 5 inches tall. Mint condition. Late 1960s.
