Description
A magnificent heavy art glass vase by Geoffrey Baxter for Whitefriars. Hand made in England in the Mid-Century. It is in a dark gray blue and is 8.5 inches tall. Very thick blown glass and an unusual asymmetrical mouth. Unmarked, ground pontil. Original label intact, worn but legible. A collector’s piece. Similar to item #9652 from the 1967 Whitefriars catalog. This one has a rather large bubble in the middle formed during the glassmaking process. No chips or cracks. There are a few faint scratches consistent with age. It does not detract from the beauty or utility of the piece.
