Offered here is a set of five rare 1950s hand-made vessels by Piesche & Reif, East Germany. Deep carved sgraffito design in African tribal patterns popular in 1950s. Glossy black glaze or dark metallic brown glaze. The carved designs are in tones of off-white—the aged natural porcelain base. This fabricator is also known as VEB Lausitzer Keramik. Designed by Anton Piesche. The tallest one is 9 inches. Sold as a set of five. Excellent vintage condition. The handle of the pitcher has a glaze skip, not a chip. The tallest one has a rough spot on the rim edge and two very tiny abrasions to the side.
