Description
This form was popularized by the famous Murano, Italy maker Mandruzzato. This example is in opaque milky white and clear. The edges are crisp and the crystal is very clear. It is 4½ inches wide. It is made using the sommerso technique — a white layer of glass encased in clear glass as visibly indicated in the base. It is a six-sided shape at the mouth that expands into a multi-sided shape cut into faceted planes. This design catches the light thereby appearing differently depending on the setting. Original Murano label intact.
