Description
Faceted amethyst block vase in the style of Mandruzzato, the famed Murano, Italy glass works. This pristine example stands 8¼ inches high. The edges are crisp and the crystal is very clear. It is made using the sommerso technique — an amethyst layer of glass encased in clear glass as visibly indicated in the base. It is a four-sided shape at the mouth that expands into a multi-sided shape cut into faceted planes. This design catches the light thereby appearing differently depending on the setting. A small chip on one edge as seen in the photos. Priced accordingly.
