Description
Rare oversized (XXL) block vase in the style of Mandruzzato, the famed Murano, Italy glass works. This pristine example stands 12 inches high. By far the largest one we’ve ever had. The edges are crisp and the crystal is very clear. It is made using the sommerso technique — an amethyst layer of glass encased in clear glass as visibly indicated in the base. It is a four-sided shape at the mouth that expands into a multi-sided shape cut into faceted planes. This design catches the light thereby appearing differently depending on the setting. A few bubbles inside the glass but otherwise pristine.
