Description
Original watercolor painting on paper by Shelter Island artist Leah Peeks, 2021. Titled “The View from My Studio.” Peeks drew inspiration from the Washington D.C. Color School painters of the 1950s, especially Sam Gilliam, while she was living in Virginia. This artwork is distinctive because of the way the pattern responds to the viewer’s eye. A sense of movement, an awareness of the near-perfect but also not-perfect design.
The artwork, once matted, is 13×21. The overall framed size is 19×27 inches. Signed on the back. Note: this artwork is not framed yet. Allow two weeks or more for custom framing.
