Description
Superb blue, magenta, and clear faceted block art glass in the style of Flavio Poli for the maker Seguso of Murano, Italy. It’s hard to describe the beautiful way light refracts through this form. It is tapered round in shape with flat sides. The three-color sommerso technique glass layers are most visible at the juncture of the round and the flat surfaces. It would function well as a vase, a paper weight, or a candle holder— but we consider it a glass art sculpture. 7 inches tall. 9 lbs.
We think this is a contemporary reproduction. It has a few bubbles inside the glass. There are a few tiny scuffs and fleabites along the bottom. The top mouth edge was ground slightly unevenly. There is a small amount of residue on the inside that’s visible if you use very strong back lighting. Refer the the photographs. We did our best to document this piece. Overall this piece displays really, really well. See this in person. We have another, much larger one by Seguso for comparison.
