Here we have a vintage (1987) offset lithograph poster depicting a 1960 painting by Max Ernst titled “Ursachen der Sonne” (Effects of the Sun). It was produced in Düsseldorf by the art dealer Helge Achenbach for the exhibit “Collection of European Masters.” 38 × 30 inches. (Allow 2 weeks for custom framing.)
Max Ernst was a German Dadaist and Surrealist. His experimental attitude toward the making of art resulted in his invention of frottage—a technique that uses pencil rubbings of objects as a source of images.
