Lappeenranta, Finland — where this weaving was made— is just a few miles from St. Petersburg, Russia. We think this weaving is an abstract representation of a satellite or Sputnik. A real “Space Age” design. A different design on both sides. It is in perfect condition and has no holes, stretching, or odor. It measures 13 x 40 inches. The label says Taidekutomo / Laura Korpikaivo-Tamminen / “LKT” symbol / Lappeenranta. Hand-made by Laura Korpikaivo-Tamminen (1904-2001) in the 1960s.
