23-120 Taxco Hexagon Sterling Cuff

$295.00

Offered here is a rather small vintage artisan-made hammered hollow sterling silver hinged cuff marked Taxco 925 and weighs 24.25 grams. Mid-Century William Spratling founded his silver business in Taxco and was instrumental in the development of modernist Mexican jewelry and tabletop design in the 1950s and 60s. The labor was affordable and the silver was plentiful and very high purity. As a result of his success, many other silversmiths opened factories in Taxco. They can be identified by their unique alpha-numeric hallmarks. This one is a bit hard to read. Visible scuffs and scratches do not detract from this item’s beauty.
