23-234 Scheurich “Jura” Vase W. Germany

This vintage Scheurich vase features molded fossil designs with a satin finish light tan and brown glaze The water-tight glazed interior is black. The design is called “Jura.” Marked 282-26 W. GERMANY. Circa 1960 – 1969. 10½ inches tall.

No flaws. This is an early production item as evidenced by the extremely fine detail and crisp edges. As the mold gets used over the years it gets softer. There is a salutation in ink on the bottom from the gift giver I think. A little label residue.

The West German fabricator Scheurich KG Keramikfabrik was founded in 1954. They are still producing today.
