Offered here is finely produced multi-color monotype entitled “Small Planet” by Bruce J. Bloom. 30 × 22½ inches, currently unframed. One-of-a-kind monotype on 2-ply bright white wove BFK Rives, France 100% rag paper with a deckle edge. Optional frame is additional. Allow two weeks. Bloom’s work is heavily influenced by the Mid-Century New York Abstract Expressionists and Action Painters such as Cy Twombly, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell, and Jackson Pollack. This piece has is reminiscent of works by Adolph Gottlieb and Max Ernst.

Bloom (1935-2019) had a long career in advertising before turning his attention to painting and printmaking. He was a resident of the North Fork of Long Island, not far from our gallery. His work was varied, including abstract and figurative subjects. One commonality is a superb understanding of color and composition, as well as an expert technique and high quality materials. We acquired his work directly from the estate.
