24-141 Bruce J. Bloom Original Abstract Drawing 23 x 29

$425.00

Energetic contemporary original watercolor and pastel painting on paper by Bruce J. Bloom. Circa early 2000s. It measures 23 × 29 inches as framed in matte white wood with a gallery acrylic face and a double-thick 8-ply black mat. It can be oriented vertically or horizontally.

Bloom’s work is heavily influenced by the Mid-Century New York Abstract Expressionists and Action Painters such as Cy Twombly, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell, and Jackson Pollack. This particular example is reminiscent of Joan Miró and Joan Mitchell.

Bloom (1935-2019) had a long career in advertising before turning his attention to painting and printmaking. He was a resident of the North Fork of Long Island, not far from our gallery. His work was varied, including abstract and figurative subjects. One commonality is a superb understanding of color and composition, as well as an expert technique and high quality materials. We acquired his work directly from the estate.
