In 1972 Warhol made “Sunset,” a commission by the architecture firm Johnson & Burgee, to decorate the landmark Hotel Marquette in Minneapolis. Offered here is an archival pigment print after the original silkscreen print. Framed in matte white wood, 24 × 24 inches. The series by Warhol had many different color variations. The sunset photo was taken from Warhol’s Montauk, NY house, a short distance from our gallery. Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American visual artist, film director and producer. A leading figure in the pop art movement, Warhol is considered the most important artist of the second half of the 20th century.
