A gallery favorite new acquisition. “Guitar” by Wesley Lea (American, 1914–1981) a robust cubist painting rich with texture. It measures 21 x 25 inches as framed by the artist in modernist gold leaf wood. It’s on canvas board and in excellent vintage condition with no paint loss. Signed lower center “Leah ’56”. It’s signed and titled on the back, with the original 1956 price of $200. Inspired by Juan Gris and Picasso.

Lea lived in Frenchtown NJ, an area known for many artists and galleries in New Hope PA. He exhibited at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
