The caption on the back read: “La Société de Vérification de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale of New York and Paris certifies and warrants that this is an original pencil-numbered and Estate-stamped serigraph d’après Henri Matisse, executed by Michel Caza, in a limited edition of 3,000 Only 975 of these original serigraphs plus 25 artist proofs have been pulled under the direct supervision of Madame Duthuit-Matisse at Caza’s atelier, in Franconville, France. Furthermore only these 975 are individually pencil-numbered and will bear the official approved stamp of the Estate of Henri Matisse.
