25-138 Orient Crab Shack Commission 40 x 16

An original acrylic painting “Orient Crab Shack III” on canvas by Michael Aron, 2025. (Commissioned) This piece measures 41 x 17 as float framed in matte white wood. It depicts “The Old Crab Shack” near Orient, NY. This structure, a former club house for a nearby hotel’s kitchen staff, sits overlooking a marsh rich with waterfowl, scallops, clams, and oysters. These guys were called “The Old Crabs.”

Michael Aron studied art and design at the Wooster School in Ridgefield, CT; The Academy of Fine Art and Design in Genk, Belgium; Syracuse University; and received his BFA from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in NYC. He is the proprietor of Ray New York.
