Fabulous concentric circles in white on clear bent glass semi-circular napkin or letter holder. Very mod 1960s design. 6½ inches wide. The original foil sticker is intact, indicating either that it was never used, or that is was extremely well cared for. It reads KRISTALL / Lausitzer Glas / Made in the German Democratic Republic.
I’m not sure why East Germany in the 1960s had such robust modern design output while being a terribly oppressive place to live. Many of the state-sponsored factories churned out beautiful, expressive objects.
