Description
This great vase features a very mod overlapping circle design. Pottery Craft of Compton, California made this glossy Mid-Century Modern vase. It is often attributed to Robert Maxwell but he did not actually make this one. The glaze alternates between gloss, satin, and matte. This design came in two color schemes—dark colors and light colors. This one is the darker spectrum: sepia, gold, copper and black.
The form is so very geometric: the spherical body sits on a tall cylindrical foot and has a tall cylindrical neck.
Handmade in the USA in the late 1960s or early 1970s. It has a maker’s mark along the bottom edge and still retains the original sales tag.
Pro tip: We like to group many different Pottery Craft pieces together—they make quite a statement.
