André Bloc was a French architect and artist. He founded the journal Art d’Aujourd’hui in which this magnificent silkscreen print was published. Bloc was the publisher, the editor — and in this case — the artist. The rich ink is printed on art paper and was inserted into the offset lithographed magazine. The last page of the magazine is a story about Bloc’s Paris gallery exhibit of his sculptures and large format paintings.
Offered here is a reproduction, an archival pigment print on matte, acid-free paper. It was made directly from our copy of the 1954 original art. We enlarged it slightly and framed it in a silver wood frame with a white acid-free mat.
The original artwork is available here.
