Description
A contemporary interpretation of Murano latticino art glass. Very heavy, blown glass with fine blue and green canes in clear glass. Quite large at 11 inches high and 8 inches wide. Great condition. Flat ground pontil mark. Occasional tiny bubbles from the glassblowing process. Slightly asymmetrical mouth. Very tightly spaced spiral canes. Unmarked so date/fabricator unknown.
Compare this to Murano mezza filigrana ribbon glass vase, especially the work of Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso.
Orrefors is famous for a similar design called “Kraka” designed by Sven Palmqvist. Their art glass pieces have thinner and more closely spaced canes.
