Description
The Finns believe good design should be applied to everyday objects. These vivid yellow dessert/cheese plates are a perfect example. Nanny Still designed the most wonderful peacock pattern made of circles and specified a pressed, hand-finished glass making technique to make them glow as the light passes through. The detail in the crisp edges of the design is quite astounding.
The name of the design is “Riikinkukko jälkiruokamalja” “Peacock” pattern. Manufactured from 1969 until 1971 by Riihimäen Lasi Oy, Finland. They were purchased at an estate sale of a woman who traveled to Finland often and brought back many treasures.
Only sold as a set of ten. Six inches in diameter. These are amazing in person. Absolutely perfect condition with the occasional bubble from manufacturing.
