Lapid Israel Hourglass Shape Fat Lava Vase: Magnificent bold and graphic design on this fat lava glaze vase from Lapid Israel. Brilliant abstract design. Manufactured by Lapid Pottery Works in Israel. The art director was Elisabeth Cohen-Silberschmidt, a German immigrant. The objects manufactured at Lapid were hand-painted, mostly by women, as piecework. This one measures 7¼ inches tall. Late 1960s.
