Description
This is the perfect red fat lava vase. It has the shape often associated with fine Swedish ceramics but has a great red and black brutalist glaze. The craftsmanship is superb: very thin pottery and terrific texture to the glazes. Really nice. 8 inches tall. Mint condition. Marked “4034” on the bottom. An uncommon form. White interior glaze. The shape in definitely an homage to the great Swedish designer Berndt Friberg, who in turn designed shapes that evoked Chinese urns.
