Description
Before embarking on his “Homage to the Square” series, Albers did other great abstract works including this linocut entitled “Showcase” from 1934. The original is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This smaller-size lithograph appeared as the frontispiece in a catalog for his exhibit at the Hirschl & Adler Galleries in NY. It is in a vintage gilt wood frame and has a glass face.
