Description
This delightfully effervescent serving dish was designed by Swedish glass artist Carl Erickson. He started his career in Reijmre, Sweden, then Pairpoint, MA then Libby Glass, OH then Blenko Glass, VA then Erickson Glassworks, OH, 1943-1961.
From the Ohio Glass Museum: “Erickson’s glass patents involved what he called a flame design. His trademark was the extensive use of controlled bubble design which was incorporated in a heavy glass ball which served as a base for many different pieces. Carl Erickson personally designed most of the pieces manufactured at his glass works.”
The color fades between green and gray. The controlled bubbles or bullicante add a drama to the presentation especially if it is positioned near a candle. The small clear bubbles refract light in a very decorative way. 9 × 9 × 3 inches.
