Description
Offered here is the original 1956 Greenport Theatre lobby card for the movie Teenage Rebel and The Opposite of Sex. What a great double feature. It is 18 x 26 inches framed in black MDF wood, ready to hang.
Greenport is on Long Island, New York locally known as the North Fork.
Vintage lobby cards are composed in wood type then hand printed in small numbers on heavy card stock. Very few originals remain as they were considered disposable. They are the standard size, 14 x 22 inches, to fit displays that were installed in the theatre, in nearby restaurants, and on exterior walls around town. They were manually replaced whenever the movie changed.
“Teenage Rebel” is a 1956 American drama film directed by Edmund Goulding and starring Ginger Rogers and Michael Rennie. It was nominated for two Academy Awards.
“The Opposite Sex” is a remake of the 1939 classic comedy The Women. Both films are based on Clare Boothe Luce’s original 1936 play. Starring Joan Collins and Ann Miller.
